Jerusalem District Police have finalized security arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage honoring Simon the Just, which will take place today, Thursday, and tomorrow, Friday, at the tomb complex in Jerusalem. Thousands of worshippers are expected to attend.

To manage the influx of visitors, increased numbers of police officers and Border Police combatants will be deployed in the area. Several streets will be closed to traffic to ensure the safety of attendees, maintain public order, and guide worshippers. Police stated their efforts will also aim to minimize disruption to the daily lives of local residents.

Traffic arrangements include the closure of Shchem Road in both directions from Mount of Olives Square to St. George Street for the duration of the pilgrimage. Shimon HaTzadik Street will be closed from both Bar Lev Road and the Spanish Consulate. The route from Wadi Joz to Othman Ben Affan will be closed to traffic heading towards the pilgrimage site. The turn from Bar Lev Road to Van Passen will be intermittently closed as needed. Public transportation will not operate on the closed streets.

Authorities are urging those attending the pilgrimage to avoid driving to the complex and to utilize public transportation whenever possible. The public is asked to comply with the instructions of police and ushers, and to exercise patience due to expected congestion and traffic arrangements. Drivers are also requested to refrain from stopping or parking in prohibited areas to ensure safe and continuous passage for emergency and rescue forces.
