The bedroom of Elitzur Hajbi, who was murdered in the October 7th attack on Moshav Yachini, has been opened three years after his death. His family had kept the room closed since the massacre, unable to enter it. In the days leading up to the third anniversary of the attack, the family decided to open the room and discovered items left untouched since that morning. After finding these items, they contacted ZAKA, the national rescue and recovery organization, requesting assistance in collecting them. ZAKA volunteers from the Sderot team, along with Deputy Director of Operations Chaim Weingarten and Lachish Region Commander Avi Drai, arrived at the home on Wednesday. The volunteers spent several hours in the room, collecting the findings that remained there since Hajbi was killed.
