The Israeli military said it killed Akram Muhammad Mahmud Abu Mashi in southern Gaza earlier this week, on Sunday. Abu Mashi was identified as a member of Hamas’s military wing.
According to the IDF spokesman, Abu Mashi took part in the October 7 massacre, when Hamas militants crossed into Israel. The military said he was one of the fighters who entered Israeli territory that morning.
In recent months, Abu Mashi had reportedly worked to help rebuild Hamas and advance terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians. The army said his activities focused on restoring the organization and promoting attacks against Israel.
The announcement did not say how Abu Mashi was killed or provide additional operational details. The IDF framed the strike as part of its campaign against Hamas operatives involved in the October 7 assault and subsequent terror planning.
