The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a large-scale operation overnight and into Wednesday morning to demolish memorials erected for terrorists in Palestinian cities and villages across the West Bank. The operation targets dozens of monuments, including a central memorial in Nablus and one dedicated to the terrorist Yasser Al-Hamdouni in Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin.

Weeks prior, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot identified dozens of these memorials glorifying terrorists and demanded their immediate removal. During the demolition operation, IDF soldiers left a message for local residents explaining that the action was directed against monuments that praise terrorists and their attacks against Israel.

"The security forces will not allow incitement to terror or the glorification of terrorists," the message stated. "Anyone who glorifies terror or supports it will be arrested for incitement, and any monument erected to glorify terrorists will be destroyed."

Soldiers also warned residents about the consequences of terrorism, stating, "Terrorism has not brought, and will not bring, anything but destruction and ruin, just as Hamas brought ruin upon the Gaza Strip for years." The demolition activities have received extensive coverage in Arab media outlets.
