Maccabi Netanya coach Roni Levi is facing defensive selection challenges as the Israeli Premier League prepares to resume after the international break. The team will play against Hapoel Petah Tikva on Saturday. Dolev Haziza and Maor Levy have returned to full fitness, and the new foreign signings have integrated well after a special program to avoid injuries. However, midfielder William Cyprien is still not training at full capacity, having felt discomfort again when attempting to rejoin full training. Cyprien recently spoke with the coaching staff about his reduced role and the arrival of new players, and was told the door is not closed to him but he must improve his performance to earn playing time.
In defense, Olivier Verdon has impressed in a recent match against Beitar Jerusalem and may start alongside Bakaari Konate. This presents a dilemma for Levi, as Ben Feldman had been a near-certain starter in central defense. However, Feldman's lack of participation with the youth national team has been noted by the club. The final decision on who will partner Konate in central defense will be made on Friday.
Additionally, Gabriel Simion is expected to be included in the squad, and Isaac is anticipated to start. "A player like this doesn't come to Israel every day," some Netanya players commented about the Brazilian Isaac.
