Israel's mission to the United Nations held an event in New York City to commemorate three years since the October 7th massacre. Hundreds of participants, ambassadors, and senior diplomats attended the event, including representatives from the US, Australia, Germany, the UK, Argentina, and Tanzania.

The central focus of the event was the personal stories of Eliya Cohen and Ziv Avraham, who were present at the Nova music festival. They recounted their experience seeking shelter in a fortified room in Re'im, which became a site of the massacre. Eliya Cohen was abducted to Gaza and held captive by Hamas for 505 days, while Ziv Avraham survived the attack and worked towards his release during his captivity. Eliya only learned of Ziv's survival upon his return from captivity.

Dr. Phil hosted a special conversation with Cohen and Avraham about their experiences, their struggles, and their path to recovery. Reserve Sergeant Uriah Berlin shared her personal account as an observer at the Re'im base on October 7th, and singer Idan Raichel performed several songs.

Ambassador Dani Dayan stated, "Three years later, we stand at the heart of the UN to say one simple thing: October 7th can never be erased, rewritten, or forgotten. The pain remains with us, but it has not broken us. Eliya and Ziv are living proof of the resilience of the people of Israel: even from the inferno, we rise, recover, and choose life. We will continue to build, prosper, and fight for our future. Am Yisrael Chai."

US Ambassador Mike Waltz asserted, "October 7th will not happen again, certainly not on this President's watch. The October 7th attack backfired on Iran and the terrorist organizations operating under its auspices, while the Abraham Accords continue to expand. Today, Iron Dome technology protects Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and terrorist organizations are on the defensive. America will always stand with the Jewish people."
