The Portland Trail Blazers, with a bolstered roster, are set to begin their 2026-27 preseason games against the Golden State Warriors. Jrue Holiday, a key player for Portland last season, will now compete for playing time with Damian Lillard and Ja Morant. Holiday expressed confidence in the team's offensive potential, stating, "Everyone knows Lillard, everyone knows Ja, everyone knows Danny. We'll share a lot of points among us, I think it will be hard to stop us."
In praise of the Israeli star, Holiday added, "Danny is also trying to lock down on defense. He's doing a good job, moving his feet, he's strong, he doesn't let people into the paint." This highlights Avdija's defensive contributions to the team.
Separately, Bart Siegel of ClutchPoints reported that before the February trade deadline, Portland received inquiries from several teams interested in Scoot Henderson as a potential trade option. However, the Trail Blazers consistently rejected these opportunities, as they view Henderson as a foundational long-term asset.
