Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Tuesday that Hamas may attempt to carry out attacks against Israel ahead of upcoming elections in order to influence their outcome. Speaking at the start of a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu stated that Israel is preparing for such a scenario and vowed a severe response if the organization tries to execute such plans. "Precisely because Hamas is so weak, it will try to challenge us with its remaining forces ahead of the elections to try and influence them. We are prepared for this, we will first of all thwart such attempts, and in any case, we will respond with immense force if they make that mistake," he said.

Netanyahu began his remarks by commemorating the three-year anniversary of the October 7th massacre. "On the evening of October 7th, we remember with sorrow and pain our heroes who fell in the War of Return and our brothers and sisters who fell in the terrible massacre in the Gaza envelope," he stated. He noted that during the three years of the war, 4,000 out of the 6,000 terrorists he claims participated in the October 7th attack have been eliminated. "None of them have immunity. We will reach all of them and Hamas rule in Gaza will be eradicated," he declared.

The Prime Minister further asserted that the regional balance of power has shifted over the past three years. "We have turned the tables. The State of Israel is the strongest country in the Middle East, our enemies are weaker than ever," he said. He also addressed the reconstruction of communities in the Gaza envelope, reporting that 90% of residents have returned to their homes, with additional residents joining the area. He highlighted construction and rehabilitation in cities, kibbutzim, and moshavim, and the arrival of young couples to live in the region. "This is a victory of spirit over evil, a victory of Israel over its enemies," he said, adding that a similar process is occurring in the north.

Concluding his remarks, Netanyahu issued a broader warning to Israel's enemies: "See what we have done to you on seven fronts in the War of Return. Do not mess with us."
