Bar-Ilan Math Lecturer Indicted for Planning Mass Attacks on Arabs

A mathematics lecturer from Bar-Ilan University, identified as a resident of Petah Tikva and around 60 years old, has been indicted for allegedly planning to murder hundreds of Arab citizens in Israel and the Palestinian territories. The indictment, filed by the State Prosecutor's Office in the Central District Court in Lod, details a meticulously planned operation dubbed "Ayit" (meaning "Eagle" and also an acronym for "With God, we will transfer"). The plan's stated goal was the expulsion of Arabs from Israel and the territories.

The alleged plot included the establishment of 12 terrorist cells, each comprising six armed individuals equipped with firearms, axes, and hammers, to carry out mass killings. The plan also envisioned rapid takeovers of "friction zones," roads, and hospitals, with the intention of mass murder. The indictment further claims the lecturer sought to recruit "subversive elements" within the IDF to assist with aerial bombardments and artillery fire.

As part of his alleged preparations, the lecturer conducted a reconnaissance mission near the town of Tuba-Zangaria to scout attack routes. He also reportedly attempted to extort Moshe Feiglin, seeking his assistance in recruiting operatives for the plan, and allegedly threatened him.

The lecturer's name is currently under a gag order. The prosecution is requesting that he be held in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
