New footage has emerged from the dramatic Flydubai flight incident, showing previously unseen moments of the hijacking and its aftermath. The exclusive videos, obtained by Channel 12 News, depict the neutralization of the hijacker and the treatment of the injured Indian pilot. Crucially, the footage also reveals the significant concern among the Israeli passengers who intervened that they might be arrested upon landing in Saudi Arabia.
In the recordings, several Israelis are seen guarding the cockpit door, preventing the hijacker from exiting and assuring other passengers of their actions. Inside the cockpit, Dr. Shota Musayev is seen tending to the Indian pilot, who had been stabbed. Other Israeli passengers provided water and urged him to stay awake.
Yeniv Hayun, one of the passengers who helped subdue the hijacker, is heard in one recording urging his companions to film the events. "Photograph, we need evidence. We are landing in an enemy country, they will arrest us first, we have blood on us!" he stated, highlighting their fear of being detained due to their blood-stained clothing.
The passengers who intervened worried that their actions might be misinterpreted, especially given their blood-covered shirts, and that they would be detained upon arrival. They were concerned that no one would believe their account of subduing the hijacker and aiding the pilot.
