IDF Eliminates Hamas and Islamic Jihad Operatives Involved in Oct. 7 Attacks

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted operations resulting in the elimination of several operatives from Hamas and Islamic Jihad who were involved in the October 7th attacks. Two Hamas militants, who infiltrated Israel during the October 7th massacre, were killed. One of these individuals participated in the assault on Kibbutz Be'eri and the subsequent kidnapping of six individuals: Sharon Hertzman-Avigdor, Noam Avigdor, Adi Shalom, Nova Shalom, Yael Shalom, and Shushana Gern, who were then taken to the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the week, an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza City area killed Mahmoud Gamal Mahmoud Abu al-Sher, identified by the IDF as a commander in the military wing of Hamas. The army stated that he was involved in the attack on Kibbutz Be'eri and the kidnapping of the aforementioned individuals on October 7th.

In a separate operation in the Jabalia area, the IDF eliminated Musab Abdel Galil Sahba al-Balisi, a commander in the military wing of Islamic Jihad. According to the IDF, he infiltrated Israeli territory during the mass attack on October 7th.

The IDF reported that in recent weeks, militants have repeatedly violated ceasefire agreements, launching attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians. These operatives were eliminated in airstrikes. The military also stated that Sharif Shadi Ibrahim Labad, a Hamas operative involved in the October 7th attack on the Erez Crossing, was previously eliminated.

The IDF indicated that these operatives were preparing for further attacks against Israelis and attempting to rebuild the organizations' military capabilities, thereby violating the terms of the truce. The recent eliminations were carried out to neutralize these threats.
