The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that it had eliminated a Hamas terrorist in southern Gaza. The individual, identified as Muhammad Abdelaziz Muhammad Negar, was a member of Hamas's military wing.

Negar had infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7th massacre and subsequently presented himself as a journalist, concealing his affiliation with Hamas. In recent times, he had been actively involved in advancing terrorist plots against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, and worked to restore Hamas's operational capabilities, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Prior to the strike, the IDF stated that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to operate to neutralize any immediate threats.
