Prominent Rabbis Endorse Noam Party Ahead of Elections

Senior rabbis from the "Kissae Rachamim" institutions have publicly declared their support for the "Noam L'Yisrael" party, a move seen as a significant shift within the Sephardic-Torah observant community. This endorsement comes approximately one month before the 26th Knesset elections.

The support materialized following a series of visits by Rabbi Shimon Touboul, the second candidate on the "Noam L'Yisrael" list and the Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva. Touboul met with prominent rabbis associated with the "Kissae Rachamim" yeshiva.

Among those expressing support was Rabbi Dekel Cohen, son-in-law of the late Rabbi Meir Mazuz and a lecturer at the yeshiva. He released a video endorsing the party and its voters. Other influential figures who met with Touboul included Rabbi Lior Cohen, head of the "Or HaMeir" institutions and another son-in-law of Rabbi Mazuz, and Rabbi Elior Mazuz, Rabbi Meir Mazuz's nephew.

The "Noam L'Yisrael" party, led by MK Avi Maoz, views these endorsements as evidence of a growing support base among Sephardic-Torah observant voters, a demographic the party aims to attract. Rabbi Touboul, who joined "Noam" in July after representing "Degel HaTorah" in the Be'er Sheva municipality, stated his belief that the party offers an alternative for those seeking to support the right-wing government and Torah world, emphasizing its role in preserving Jewish identity.
