Knesset Member Accuses Former Attorney General of Avoiding Testimony in Netanyahu Trial
Member of Knesset Moshe Saada (Likud) has sharply criticized the conduct of former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit, alleging that Mandelblit fears his upcoming testimony in the trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Speaking on the radio program "Palti and Zamri on the People" on Galey Israel, Saada claimed Mandelblit made a "despicable" attempt to avoid appearing in court, an effort he believes the judges recognized as disingenuous. Saada, who previously served as deputy head of the Police Internal Investigations Department (Mahash), stated that Mandelblit understands the implications of his testimony and the anticipated cross-examination. "He is very afraid. No one thought this case would actually be investigated. He knew about the failures, he knew about the crimes that I claim he committed," Saada asserted. He added that he personally warned those involved at the time of the events, calling them "criminals."
