Thousands Attend Major Hasidic Celebration in Petah Tikva
Tens of thousands of Hasidim gathered in Petah Tikva for the "Simchat Beit Hashoeva" (Rejoicing of the Water Drawing) festival, hosted by the Mishkoltz Hasidic dynasty. The event, held in Israel's largest stadium, featured a speech by the Rebbe of Mishkoltz, Rabbi Moshe Yehoshua Hager, who is considered a spiritual leader in the city.
During his address, the Rebbe addressed the issue of yeshiva students and military conscription, stating, "Are yeshiva students called deserters? The deserters are those who prevent yeshiva students from studying Torah! They have long since deserted the study of Torah that protects the people of Israel, and this is what causes wars and troubles." He added that strengthening Torah study would hasten the redemption.
The "Simchat Beit Hashoeva" is a traditional festival celebrated during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday, commemorating the ancient Temple ritual of drawing water. The Mishkoltz Hasidic dynasty is known for its large gatherings and vibrant celebrations.
