Thousands Attend Major Hasidic Celebration in Petah Tikva

Tens of thousands of people from diverse backgrounds gathered for the "Great Rejoicing of the Water Drawing" festival hosted by the Mishkoltz Hasidic dynasty in Petah Tikva. The event, held at the city's largest stadium, the Moshava Stadium, was attended by prominent figures including Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg and senior police officials.

The spiritual leader of Mishkoltz, Rabbi Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss, delivered a significant address emphasizing the importance of Torah study for the protection of the Jewish people. He stated that those who prevent yeshiva students from learning are the true "deserters," having abandoned the Torah that safeguards Israel, and suggested this abandonment leads to conflict and suffering. He asserted that strengthening Torah study and observance would hasten the redemption.

The festival featured musical performances by artists such as Mordechai Shapiro and Chaim Yisrael, accompanied by large orchestras. The Petah Tikva police deployed hundreds of officers to ensure security, while the local Kashrut (dietary supervision) authority provided dozens of stewards to maintain modesty and holiness standards.

Many attendees approached Rabbi Weiss for blessings, which are considered highly effective due to his deep connection to Torah. The event aimed to bring people closer to God, including those less connected to religious tradition. The mayor praised the Mishkoltz Rebbe as a spiritual light for the city and expressed pride in his presence in Petah Tikva.
