Radio Host Accuses Channel 12 News of Falling for Prank on Flydubai Flight Incident

Former radio host Yossi Davidov has criticized Channel 12 News for its reporting on a recent Flydubai flight incident, during which the plane made an emergency landing in Israel following an altercation in the cockpit. Davidov alleged on social media platform X that a friend of his successfully posed as a passenger on the flight to Channel 12's investigative team, despite not being on board.

According to Davidov, the friend is part of a small WhatsApp group, and he decided to "troll" Israeli media systems. Davidov stated that his friend contacted Channel 12 investigators, claiming to be on the flight, and "bullshitted them effortlessly." Within three minutes, the friend was on air for nearly five minutes, fabricating "bizarre" names and even claiming his brother was on the flight. Davidov expressed disbelief that no one at Channel 12 realized they were being fooled, noting that the interview only ended when the friend decided to stop it himself due to embarrassment.

Davidov sarcastically labeled the incident "journalistic clownery." The circumstances of the flight incident are currently under investigation. Meanwhile, a senior Israeli official involved in discussions about the event revealed that a "very heavy disaster was averted," describing the incident as one pilot stabbing another and attempting a "9/11" or hijacking the plane to crash it, comparing the near-event to September 2001 or July 1976.
