Doctors Save Infant After Swallowing Plastic Piece
Medical staff at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera successfully saved the life of a nine-month-old infant from Binyamina. The baby was brought to the hospital suffering from an unusual cough and hoarseness that had persisted for five days at home.
An examination using a small camera inserted through the infant's nose revealed a piece of plastic from a ketchup bottle lodged between the baby's vocal cords. The child was immediately taken to the operating room.
A team from the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department successfully removed the plastic obstruction, saving the infant's life.
