Israeli Forces Strike Gaza, Causing Casualties and Destroying Homes

Israeli forces continued operations in the Gaza Strip for the 356th consecutive day, violating ceasefire understandings. Early Wednesday morning, new breaches included airstrikes, artillery shelling, gunfire, and the destruction of homes and targeting of displaced persons' tents, primarily in Gaza and Khan Younis governorates. These actions resulted in the death of a young girl and injuries to several Palestinians across the Strip.

According to Nasser Medical Complex, displaced individuals were injured by an Israeli drone strike near Dream Palace Hall in western Khan Younis. In Gaza City, a fisherman was injured by a drone-dropped grenade while working off the coast of the Beach Camp. Another Palestinian was shot by Israeli forces in the Qizan Rashwan area, south of Khan Younis. Three displaced people, including a woman, were injured when a displacement camp near the Shuja'iyya junction was damaged by Israeli shelling.

Eastern areas of the Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza experienced tank fire. Artillery shelling targeted the eastern Zeitoun neighborhood and the vicinity of the Shuja'iyya junction, where an airstrike destroyed a house on Baghdad Street in eastern Gaza City. "Quadcopter" drones dropped grenades near the Shuja'iyya junction and eastern Al-Bureij camp. Israeli tanks fired in eastern and southern Khan Younis, while naval vessels fired off the coast of Gaza City.

These ongoing operations persist despite a ceasefire agreement signed in October 2025 and understandings for the second phase of the truce in July 2026. U.S. President Donald Trump announced a "new agreement" on July 31, 2026, to begin the second phase of the Gaza "road map," but Israeli military operations have continued.
