Belz Rebbe Holds Rare Afternoon Gathering for Thousands of Yeshiva Students
Thousands of students from Belz's major yeshivas participated in a special gathering, or 'tish,' led by the Belz Rebbe on Tuesday, the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. The event took place in the large sukkah at the central Belz synagogue in Jerusalem.
This afternoon tish is described as a rare and unique occasion, specifically organized for the students. The aim was to give them focused attention, as they often struggle to see the Rebbe during evening gatherings due to large crowds. Each student was assigned a specific seat based on their age and yeshiva.
During the tish, the students themselves assisted in distributing food and led the singing. Unusually for such an event, music was also featured. The blessing after the meal was recited by Moshe Yehoshua Rokeach, the Rebbe's grandson.
