Dozens of Israelis Rescued From Ethiopian Conflict Zone

Approximately 45 Israeli tourists have been safely evacuated from northern Ethiopia after becoming trapped for days amid intense fighting in the Tigray region. The complex and urgent rescue operation was launched following a resurgence of hostilities that left the Israelis stranded in the heart of the danger zone with no means of independent departure, causing significant anxiety for their families in Israel.

Gadi Yevarkan, chairman of the "Tzomet-Beit Yisrael" list, established a special volunteer command center and worked tirelessly with senior officials in the Ethiopian government and Ethiopian Airlines management to arrange the emergency evacuation. The operation utilized two helicopters to extract all Israelis from the perilous area and transport them to safety.

The rescued tourists are expected to land in Israel on the following day and reunite with their concerned families. Following the successful operation, Yevarkan expressed his gratitude to all parties in Israel and Ethiopia who worked quietly, responsibly, and decisively behind the scenes. He stated, "In moments like these, there is no politics and no factions, only human lives and mutual responsibility. When Israelis are in danger thousands of kilometers from home, our duty is to do everything possible to bring them back safely. Now the heart can say: Our brothers are returning home.
