Iran Freezes Hamas Funding Amid Disappointment Over West Bank Incitement

Iran has reportedly frozen financial support for the Hamas terror organization amid deep disappointment and anger in Tehran over Hamas's inability to destabilize the security situation in the West Bank. The dramatic move comes as a senior Hamas delegation visited Tehran earlier this month for meetings with Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. During these closed-door sessions, Hamas representatives urgently requested the renewal of Iranian funding due to severe budget shortfalls. However, the delegation received no commitment for renewed financial aid, reflecting Tehran's dissatisfaction with the lack of significant escalation in the West Bank.

According to the "חדרי חרדים" website, a Palestinian source familiar with the matter stated that commanders from the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force were absent from the official meetings with the Hamas delegation. This absence reportedly signals a strained communication channel between Iran and Hamas, which is detrimental to the terror organization. In response to the significant pressure from Iran, Hamas is reportedly prioritizing the escalation of conflict in the West Bank as a central element of its operations, aiming to appease Tehran and secure the resumption of its financial backing.
