Iran's IRGC Warns of Impending Israeli Attack, Cites Netanyahu's Political Fears

A representative of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has stated that Israel is planning an imminent attack on the Islamic Republic, according to the Tasnim news agency. The IRGC colonel claimed that Israel intends to strike before upcoming elections, suggesting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fears imprisonment if he loses. The Iranian army's spokesperson also declared readiness for a preemptive strike against Israel if preparations for an attack are confirmed.

Israel has been reportedly considering a new confrontation with Iran due to intelligence about intensified work at an underground facility near Natanz. An Israeli source familiar with the situation indicated that renewed strikes might become unavoidable if Tehran continues to develop and fortify its nuclear program facilities. This source asserted that Iran has accelerated the construction and reinforcement of underground infrastructure to enhance its protection against potential attacks, though specific "red lines" for Tehran's actions were not detailed.

Earlier, Prime Minister Netanyahu, speaking at the Tel Hof Air Force base, mentioned that Israel possesses information regarding a potential attack from adversaries in the near future. He also noted that while Israel has achieved significant successes, it faces considerable pressure to retreat from its accomplishments, which he attributed to the actions of Israeli soldiers.

Furthermore, Netanyahu previously addressed the UN General Assembly in New York, highlighting the ongoing threat posed by Iran and suggesting the possibility of regime change within the Islamic Republic.
