Channel 14 Commentator Slams Channel 13 Host Over Hostage Survivor Remarks

Avi Shoshan, a commentator on Channel 14, strongly criticized Yocheved Lifshitz, an 88-year-old hostage survivor, for her recent remarks about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Lifshitz, in an interview with Channel 13, stated that Netanyahu had not brought back any hostages and claimed that Miriam Adelson had 'bought' them from Trump. She also warned that the current government remaining in power after elections would be a disaster for the country.

Shoshan, who previously served as spokesperson for Ichilov Hospital when Lifshitz was released, expressed anger at her criticism of Netanyahu. He asserted that Lifshitz arrived during the Biden administration, not Trump's, and that her family harbored intense hatred for Netanyahu and the right-wing government. Shoshan accused Lifshitz of being responsible for the "biggest public relations disaster" since the war began, stating, "The whole world is listening to you. Remember there is an issue of international public relations."

Channel 13 anchor Arik Weiss responded critically to Shoshan's comments, referring to him offensively as "the zero." In defense of Shoshan, Channel 14 military correspondent Noam Amir posted on X, accusing Weiss of hypocrisy. Amir suggested that Weiss would soon rely on Shoshan for his salary, implying that Channel 13 was funding a large campaign featuring Shoshan to boost ratings. Amir further questioned Weiss's willingness to interview Shoshan, who is also slated to appear on the reality show "Survivor" on Channel 13, asking if he would introduce him as "the zero" or as the "Survivor star."
