Police Arrest Teenager in Jaffa During Major Crime Sweep
Police in Jaffa, Israel, arrested a 17-year-old boy during a large-scale law enforcement operation that targeted crime and violence in the city. The teenager was apprehended after a dramatic chase involving undercover officers on Yefet Street. He was reportedly riding recklessly and ran a red light. A search of his person revealed a substance suspected to be cocaine.
The operation, which involved officers from the Tel Aviv District's special patrol unit (Yasam), Jaffa police station, K9 units, and the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality, resulted in the arrest of ten suspects. Authorities also seized drugs, thousands of shekels in cash, and confiscated 38 electric transportation devices, including scooters and bicycles, which were allegedly used to commit offenses.
The sweep was conducted in response to a series of serious violent incidents and criminal disputes in Jaffa. Officers focused on individuals involved in severe criminal offenses and the misuse of electric scooters and bikes for illegal activities. During the operation, police also stopped two masked individuals on a scooter with a duplicated license plate, who attempted to evade capture. They were taken in for questioning.

Later, near the entrance to Pardes Daka, two suspects were caught attempting to flee into a container complex. A search yielded approximately 250 grams of drugs and ten ecstasy pills.
Authorities also addressed dangerous traffic violations, arresting an electric bicycle rider on Saharon Street who was found in possession of cannabis allegedly divided for distribution. The operation concluded with ten arrests, the confiscation of 38 electric vehicles, and the issuance of citations for life-threatening traffic violations.
