Attempted Ketamine Smuggling Foiled at Allenby Bridge
Authorities have arrested a man suspected of attempting to smuggle approximately 2 kilograms of ketamine into Israel. The suspect, a resident of Judea and Samaria in his 40s, was apprehended during a joint operation involving officers from the Bika police station in the Gilad district, the drug enforcement unit of the Tax Authority's customs department, and the Airport Authority's security service at the Allenby Bridge crossing. The drugs were discovered concealed within the walls of the man's suitcase during a search. Under interrogation, the suspect claimed he had recently traveled to Nigeria and purchased the suitcase at a flea market there. The ketamine and two mobile phones believed to be involved in the smuggling attempt were confiscated and handed over to the Bika police station for further investigation.
