Israeli Public Broadcaster Launches AI Chat With 'Checkout' Show Characters
Following the record-breaking premiere of its sixth season, which garnered over 2.2 million views across all platforms, Kan 11, Israel's public broadcasting corporation, is launching an innovative AI-powered chat platform. This new feature allows users to interact with 12 beloved characters from the popular satirical sitcom "Checkout" (Kupa Rashit).
Users can now engage in conversations with characters like Kochava, asking her opinions on singing, or Amnon, who might discuss another visit to the "Shufersal" supermarket branch. Anatoli, another character, can recall events from previous seasons. If a specific moment from the series is mentioned during a chat, the AI character will direct the user to it, and a video player will open on screen to show the relevant clip.
Since its launch on the eve of Yom Kippur, the AI chat has seen remarkable engagement. Approximately 110,000 conversations have been initiated on the website, with nearly half a million messages exchanged. The average conversation length is around five messages, though some users have reached the maximum limit of 40 messages per chat.
