Maccabi Tel Aviv Manager Yoav Ziv Expected to Depart Club
Maccabi Tel Aviv, despite a strong start to the Israeli Premier League season with 15 points from their first five games, is reportedly set to make a significant change in its management. Yoav Ziv, who has served as the team's manager for the past nine years, is expected to conclude his tenure with the club soon.
Ziv's departure comes after he received a three-month ban from football activities following incidents during the State Cup final against Hapoer Be'er Sheva. Initially, the prosecutor sought a six-month suspension, but Ziv's ban was halved. He began serving this suspension on July 1st and is scheduled to complete it on October 1st. However, it appears his managerial role will end before the ban concludes.
Raz Ben Shimon is reportedly the leading candidate to succeed Ziv as the new team manager for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
