Dudu Otmezgin Bakery Honors Fallen Soldier With Special Cookie Line

The Dudu Otmezgin patisserie chain, in collaboration with the NEXT OCTOBER organization, is launching a special line of chocolate chip cookies based on a recipe developed by the late Sergeant Major (Res.) Uriel Aviad Silverman. Silverman, a tank corps fighter in Battalion 7421, was killed in action in southern Gaza near Khan Yunis on January 19, 2024, by an anti-tank missile. He was known for his cheerful disposition and his passion for cooking and sharing food with others.

The cookie packaging will feature Silverman's photograph and a QR code linking to his memorial page. To mark the upcoming launch, Silverman's family, including his mother Aviva and siblings Eyal, Ronen, Yonatan, and Livnat, visited the chain's production facility in Kiryat Motzkin. They met with the company's management, participated in baking the cookies, and saw the memorial packaging for the first time.

The cookies are expected to go on sale in all Dudu Otmezgin stores in the coming days. The Dudu Otmezgin patisserie chain was founded by chef-pastry chef Dudu Otmezgin, a pioneer of French patisserie in Israel. The chain's central factory in Kiryat Motzkin is the hub of its operations, distributing internationally-standard baked goods and desserts daily, while also integrating community values, contributions, and social memorial activities.
