Ofer Winter's Party Launches New Campaign Targeting Security Doctrine

Ofer Winter's 'Am Ech Yisrael' party is escalating its election campaign by focusing on the concept of 'security conception,' arguing that fundamental security beliefs that preceded the October 7th attacks have not significantly changed.

The party contends that the 'conception' is not tied to a single political faction or leader but to anyone involved in shaping Israel's political and security policies over the years. The campaign aims to highlight ongoing issues such as the lack of decisive action in Gaza, the absence of voluntary Palestinian emigration, weak governance, rising crime, illegal weapons, border breaches, and a diminished sense of personal security, all presented as evidence that the post-October 7th reality is not sufficiently different from the pre-attack era.

Winter's campaign plans to target figures from across the political spectrum who have held positions influencing Israeli security policy. It intends to use past statements from politicians, including former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Palestinian autonomy and Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman on potentially introducing Jordanian forces into the West Bank, as examples of flawed security thinking.

The party's strategy is to broaden the election discourse beyond accountability for the October 7th failures to question whether Israel's security doctrine has truly evolved since the massacre. While Winter has previously called for new political figures, he has also stated he would recommend Benjamin Netanyahu for government formation.
