A man, approximately 30 years old, was killed early Tuesday morning after his car apparently collided with a horse on Highway 65 near the village of Ilabun in northern Israel. Emergency services received the report of the accident at 5:57 AM and arrived to find the driver inside his vehicle with severe injuries and no signs of life. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
"It was a very difficult scene," said MDA paramedic Farid Othman and senior medic Moran Abu Shakara. "When we arrived, the driver was inside the vehicle suffering from severe bodily injuries, unconscious, without a pulse or breathing. We performed medical checks, but his injuries were significant and we could only pronounce him dead at the scene."
The police confirmed the incident, stating that officers and traffic accident investigators were dispatched to the location. They are directing traffic and have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash, which occurred near the Tzfia Netofa interchange. The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
