Hundreds Attend Torah Gathering for Rabbi Shmuel Betzalel in Jerusalem
Hundreds of students and married scholars attended a "Hakabalat Panim" (welcoming the face of the rabbi) ceremony for Rabbi Shmuel Betzalel, head of the Porat Yosef Yeshiva and a member of the Council of Torah Sages. The event took place during Chol Hamoed Sukkot at the "Chanichei Hayeshivot, Giv'at Ha'antena" community hall in the Givat Antena neighborhood of Jerusalem.
During the gathering, Rabbi Betzalel delivered a lesson on the laws of blessings over the lulav, discussing the text of the blessing and related complex issues. Following the lesson, he offered words of encouragement on the importance of Torah study and each person's role in the world.
Notable attendees included Rabbi Avraham Dayan, rabbi of the Ramat Sharet neighborhood; Rabbi Rachamim Ziat Ketzin, spiritual director of the "Amalei Torah" and "Avnei Nezer" yeshivas; and Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Shmuel Marziano.
