Or Shmuel Yeshiva Students Celebrate Completion of Talmud Tractate and Shas in Jerusalem

By משה ויסברג
Translated & summarized from Behadrei Haredim by baba
The story · English

The Or Shmuel Yeshiva in Jerusalem marked the start of the summer break with a special ceremony celebrating the completion of the lengthy Talmud tractate Bava Batra, studied over the past year by dozens of its students. This year, the event also included the completion of the entire Talmud (Shas), studied in memory of the yeshiva's founder and head's father, Rabbi Neta Schiller, a prominent figure in the baal teshuva movement.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Rabbi Noam Yitzchak Alon, head of the Mir-Brakhlad Yeshiva, who praised the unique teacher-student relationship fostered at Or Shmuel. Rabbi Nachshon Schiller, the current head of Or Shmuel, spoke about the joy found in Torah study, especially in completing the Shas in memory of his father and the additional time devoted to learning the tractate beyond the regular yeshiva schedule.

The event concluded with a sense of spiritual elevation and gratitude for being part of the global Torah community. Photographs of the ceremony were shared courtesy of the event's photographer.
