Umm Al-Fahm Chess Academy Hosts Autumn Championship, Crowns Winners
The Chess Academy at the Umm Al-Fahm Community Center organized its Autumn Chess Championship last Saturday, drawing approximately 70 players of various ages. The event, overseen by chess coach Bilal Younis, featured intense competition and high levels of focus and discipline.
Participants were divided into six competitive categories based on their rating points, ensuring balanced matches that showcased strong technical skills and tactical prowess. The championship aimed to foster strategic thinking, logical analysis, and decision-making abilities among young participants.
The academy highlighted the importance of chess in developing the character of young generations, describing it as an educational and mental tool that enhances planning, analysis, and problem-solving skills, while also building self-confidence and patience.
Winners were crowned in each category. In the first category (up to 1300 points), Adam Asli took first place, followed by Talia Asli and Uday Mahajna. Other category winners included Hala Ighbariya, Lian Ammar, Ziad Jabareen, Sarah Ighbariya, and Khaled Madlaj.
The Community Center reaffirmed its commitment to providing educational, recreational, and sports programs for all age groups in the city, aiming to nurture young talent through specialized professional supervision in a stimulating environment.
