Ofer Winter's Party Slams Goldknopf, Questioning His Right-Wing Allegiance

The "Am Israel" party, led by Ofer Winter, launched a sharp attack on United Torah Judaism chairman MK Yitzhak Goldknopf on Monday. The criticism followed a Channel 12 report by Amit Segal, suggesting that senior figures within the Gur Hasidic community believe Goldknopf might abstain from voting on the establishment of a minority government led by Gadi Eisenkot.

"Goldknopf is not part of the right-wing camp, and the truth is, he never was," the party stated. "Am Israel" further argued that a government reliant on Goldknopf could not "unite the entire nation of Israel for the campaign" or defeat the enemy. The party's statement emphasized, "Netanyahu and the right must understand: Goldknopf is the problem, not the solution."

"Am Israel" declared its intention to work towards forming a broad right-wing government independent of Goldknopf. They also plan to advance legislation stipulating that "those who serve receive, and those who do not, do not receive." Earlier, Goldknopf responded to Segal's report, clarifying that United Torah Judaism "will not support the establishment of a government nor will it assist any government from the outside without regulating the status of yeshiva students and legislating a conscription law without sanctions and without targets."
