Temperatures to Plummet, Rain Expected During Sukkot Holiday

Israel is bracing for a significant drop in temperatures and the possibility of light, localized rain across the country during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. Starting Monday night, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of light rain, particularly in the north and along the coastal plain.

Tuesday will see continued cloudiness, with temperatures falling below seasonal averages, especially in central and southern Israel. Light, localized rain may occur in the north and along the coast.

Wednesday is forecast to be partly cloudy with a further temperature decrease. Localized rain is expected mainly in northern Israel and along the coastal plain. Thursday will remain partly cloudy, with a chance of light, scattered rain in the north and along the coast, and temperatures continuing to be lower than usual for this time of year.

Friday is expected to be partly cloudy with no significant temperature changes. Localized rain is possible, primarily in the north. Temperatures are predicted to range from 18 degrees Celsius (64 F) in Jerusalem and Safed to 28 degrees Celsius (82 F) in Eilat.
