Two Killed in Gaza Strikes, Israel Targets Hamas Financial Operative
At least two people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to Gaza health officials cited by Reuters. One strike in Gaza City reportedly killed a woman and injured her husband and others when it hit the roof of their building. Another strike in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza also resulted in a woman's death and injuries to others.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated they targeted an armed operative in Nuseirat but provided no further details and did not immediately comment on the Gaza City strike. Separately, the IDF announced on Sunday that it had eliminated Shadi Abu Hatira, a key Hamas money changer, in an airstrike in Gaza City. Abu Hatira was described as heading a money exchange network that transferred tens of millions of shekels in foreign currency to Hamas's military wing. He was also involved in trade in the Strip and managed the company 'Gardena Professional,' which facilitated his financial operations.
