Israel Allows E1 Housing Tender Bids, Opening Post-Election

The Israeli Attorney General, Gali Baharav-Miara, has decided to permit submissions for a tender to build over 1,000 housing units in the E1 area, despite the tender's postponement until after the upcoming elections. While bids can be submitted, the envelopes containing them will not be opened until after October 27, adhering to the original decision to delay the process. The E1 construction plan is intended to connect the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem, a move that critics argue would sever territorial contiguity between Ramallah and Bethlehem in the West Bank.
