Thousands Trek Through Samaria to Newly Reestablished Settlements

Tens of thousands of hikers are visiting tourist and heritage sites in Samaria during the intermediate days of the Sukkot holiday. The regional council is preparing for the main event, the Samaria March, scheduled for Wednesday, September 30. The march will take place between the settlements of Ganim and Kadim, which were destroyed as part of the Disengagement Plan and reestablished this year. This event occurs just one month after Ganim and Kadim were resettled in northern Samaria.

The day will begin at 9:00 AM with a festive Hallel prayer at the new settlement of No'am. The mass march from Ganim to Kadim is set to commence at 11:00 AM. Access to the area will be via the Gilboa crossing. At 1:00 PM, singer Beni Landau is scheduled to perform in Kadim, with Shir David Gadsi as a guest.

The event and route will be secured by the IDF. Parking will be arranged at the Ganim junction, with shuttle services operating for marchers. Head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, urged the public to attend, stating, "There is something particularly exciting and powerful about marching during Sukkot from Ganim to Kadim, just one month after these settlements were reestablished. These are places that were destroyed in the expulsion, and today we are returning to them with families, with children, and with Israeli flags. The people of Israel are returning to live in northern Samaria, this is the absolute victory! The dear people of Israel are voting with their feet, coming with the Israeli flag, supporting the pioneers, and experiencing this historic moment up close."

The Samaria March is the highlight of various Sukkot holiday activities across the region, including tours of heritage sites, family activities, nature trails, and other events.
