Netanyahu Denies Egyptian Warning, Accuses Ex-Shin Bet Chief
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reiterated his firm denial of reports claiming he received advance warning from Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel prior to the October 7th attack. Netanyahu announced his intention to file a defamation lawsuit.
In a post on the social media platform X, Netanyahu launched an unprecedented attack on former Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Ronen Bar, accusing him of committing "crimes." Netanyahu stated that Bar held discussions with the Chief of Staff and head of Military Intelligence on the night of the attack, during which security indicators were discussed. However, Netanyahu alleged that Bar made the decision not to inform the Prime Minister and did not alert forces in the field or evacuate the Nova music festival. Instead, Bar reportedly dispatched only a small force, which Netanyahu suggested proves Bar was aware of the danger without notifying the political leadership.
