Nature Authority Closes Popular Sites Due to Sukkot Holiday Crowds
Israel's Nature and Parks Authority announced on Monday, the second day of the intermediate days of Sukkot, that two popular sites, Gan Hashlosha National Park and the Snir Stream Nature Reserve, have been closed to visitors due to overcrowding. The authority recommended that holidaymakers visit alternative sites in the area.
On Sunday, the first day of the intermediate days of Sukkot, approximately 70,000 people visited the authority's various sites. Among the most popular locations were Gan Hashlosha National Park, Ashkelon, Afek, Caesarea, Ein Hemed, Banias Nature Reserve, Ein Gedi, Dor Habonim, and Almogim.
Additionally, around 3,700 people spent the eve of Sukkot at the authority's overnight camping sites, including popular spots like Maayan Harod, Horeshat Tal, Achziv, and Khan Barut.
The Nature and Parks Authority stated that various family-friendly events and activities, celebrating Sukkot and the autumn season, are scheduled to take place throughout the holiday at nature reserves and national parks across the country.
