Palestinian Security Officer Arrested in West Bank Tunnel Case

A senior officer in the Palestinian Authority's General Security service, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, is among two Palestinian residents of Qalqilya arrested in connection with a tunnel discovered in the city. The Samaria Military Court extended their detention until October 4. The two men are suspected of possessing weapons, preparing to carry out a terror act, and constructing a tunnel for criminal purposes or escape.

Two Israeli civilians were also arrested as part of the same investigation, and their detention was extended until September 29. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
