Netanyahu Asked UAE President to Deny Pre-Oct. 7 Hamas Warning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally requested that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed deny reports that he received a prior warning about Hamas's planned actions before the October 7th attacks. The request was made during their recent meeting in Abu Dhabi, according to sources cited by the Associated Press.

Netanyahu sought an official denial of an investigative report published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. This report claimed the UAE president had contacted Netanyahu about a week and a half before the attack, warning of "dangerous movements" by Hamas.

The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment directly to the AP on Netanyahu's request, issuing a standard diplomatic statement without a definitive denial of the warning itself. The Prime Minister's office also refused to comment on the content of the recent meeting, having previously described earlier reports of such a warning as "absolute lies."

This development coincides with reporting by The New York Times, which indicated that security officials confirmed regional intelligence communications that were not included in official internal investigations.
