Liahi Griner Debuts as Doula on Reality Show 'Baby Boom'

Reality documentary series 'Baby Boom' will feature a particularly emotional episode tonight, Monday, on Keshet 12, showcasing Liahi Griner in her role as a doula. In a preview clip, Griner is seen arriving at the hospital to support a woman in labor, expressing her deep passion for the profession. "Hello, I'm Liahi Griner and I'm a doula," she introduces herself at the start of the segment. Upon entering the delivery room, she shares in an interview, "I love giving birth. I see a birth, I want to be there in her place, I want to push for her."

Griner, who arrived at the hospital directly from a workout, recounted receiving the notification about the birth during her training session. "I came in the middle of a workout, I didn't even see... I didn't even open my phone." She advises the expectant mother, "If you focus only on these breaths, every contraction will pass you by like this." When the mother-to-be comments on Griner's pleasant scent, Griner explains the magic she perceives in the birthing process: "A woman brings a human being into the world, it's pure magic." As the mother complains of pain, Griner reassures her, "Good. If it didn't hurt, life, we wouldn't be progressing anywhere."

Griner, a former participant in the reality show 'Big Brother,' discussed her path to becoming a doula. "I've been through births, I have three children, so of course I can give advice, and many people really asked me for advice, and I said, 'Wow, how I wish this could be something real,'" she described. Griner's work as a doula has garnered significant attention; fellow 'Big Brother' alum Rinat Giter Bas even declined her husband's offer to hire Griner as her doula, as reported in a previous episode.

'Baby Boom' returns for a new season, presenting moving stories from delivery rooms across the country. Previous episodes have featured comedians Almog Shor and Roey Tzabri, who arrived at Lis Hospital after premature water breaking, and singer Dana Lapidot, who shared personal details about her life leading up to the birth of her third son.
