Police Deploy New Cameras to Combat Dangerous Driving

Israeli police in the Zevulun station, part of the "Asher" region, conducted a targeted traffic operation in cooperation with municipal police from Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Yam, and Kiryat Motzkin. The operation focused on combating dangerous driving offenses and "road bullying," with a special emphasis on distracted driving, a major cause of severe accidents.

To enhance enforcement, officers utilized advanced technological tools, including tactical cameras, still cameras, and speed measurement devices. These tools were operated from patrol vehicles to document drivers committing violations in real-time.

During the operation, 53 traffic tickets were issued for offenses such as distracted driving, road bullying, and other safety violations. Additionally, three vehicles were impounded and removed from the road by court order, two vehicles were towed, and hearings were held for two drivers due to the severity of their offenses. Ten fines, amounting to hundreds of shekels, were also issued.

The Israel Police stated that they will continue to employ all available operational and technological means, both overt and covert, to deter offending drivers and ensure the safety of all road users.
