Ehud Barak's Cyber Firm Paragon to List on Nasdaq Via SPAC Merger
Paragon, an offensive cyber intelligence firm co-founded by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and former head of military intelligence unit 8200, Ehud Schneorson, announced its intention to list on the Nasdaq stock exchange. The company plans to achieve this through a merger with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC).
While the valuation and timeline for the listing were not disclosed, Paragon stated that it chose the SPAC route over a traditional Initial Public Offering (IPO) to "take advantage of the market window of opportunity." The company was acquired in December 2024 by the American investment fund AE Industrial Partners for an estimated $900 million, contingent on meeting certain milestones.
Paragon, founded in 2019 by veterans of the Israeli intelligence community, will maintain its development and innovation center in Israel following the merger. Its flagship product, Graphite, is reportedly capable of penetrating encrypted applications such as WhatsApp and Signal.
