Channel 14 Reporter Accuses Channel 12 of Rating Manipulation Amidst Fierce Competition
Tamir Morag, a reporter for Israel's Channel 14, has accused its competitor, Channel 12, of deliberately distorting viewership ratings to mask a significant decline. Morag posted a scathing statement on Telegram, including a screenshot of the daily ratings table, claiming Channel 12 is in "complete panic" and experiencing a "mental collapse."
Morag alleged that Channel 12's main news broadcast has been struggling with historically low ratings since Channel 14's rise. He stated that Channel 12's evening news "again achieved a single-digit figure," an event he claims would not have happened before Channel 14 entered the picture.
To allegedly circumvent this embarrassment, Morag claims Channel 12, based in Neve Ilan, falsely split its broadcast into two separate programs, "News" and "News - Yonit Levi," contrary to the rating committee's procedures, in an attempt to manipulate the numbers. He asserted that Channel 12's "real rating" for the day was 9.9.
Morag concluded his attack by stating that Channel 12 is facing a collapse both in ratings and mentally. Channel 12 (Keshet 12) has not yet responded to the allegations. The ongoing battle for viewership between the two channels continues to generate heated exchanges.
