Kuwaiti Journalist Slams Arab Delegations for Walking Out During Netanyahu's UN Speech

Kuwaiti journalist Jassem Al-Juraid has sharply criticized delegations from several Arab nations for walking out of the UN General Assembly hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address on September 24. Dozens of delegations, including those from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, and Iran, demonstratively left the hall as Netanyahu took the podium.

Al-Juraid, a Kuwaiti journalist and opposition figure known for his criticism of the Muslim Brotherhood, Iranian influence, and radical Islam, also publicly supports normalizing relations between Arab countries and Israel. He found it particularly telling that these same delegations did not leave the hall during the speeches of Iranian regime representatives.

"Not a single one of these cowards walked out during the Iranian regime's speech," Al-Juraid wrote, highlighting the selective nature of the protest against the Israeli prime minister. He stated that the lack of a similar reaction to Iran's address indicates serious moral failings within the international community.

Al-Juraid also commented on Israel's actions against terrorist groups, concluding his remarks with the Hebrew phrase "Am Yisrael Chai" (The People of Israel Live). This is not the first time Al-Juraid has made such statements; in March 2026, he spoke at a UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva about the role of Arab forces in the region's history, asserting that Israel today confronts the same forces he believes are also pressuring the Arab world.
