Likud Minister Dismisses Polls Showing Party Below 20 Seats

Miki Zohar, Israel's Minister of Culture and Sports, stated on Monday that internal Likud polls show the party nearing 28 Knesset seats, dismissing external surveys that place the Likud below 20 mandates as inaccurate. Zohar asserted that these pollsters "have no idea" and predicted the Likud would gain further support as the elections approach, with people returning to the party.

He recalled the previous election, where Likud performed better than polls indicated. Political commentator Attila Somfalvi also commented on recent polls, including one from Kan 11 that showed an even split of 52 mandates for both major blocs. Somfalvi, who has long argued that polls underestimate Netanyahu's support, suggested that the "serious" first poll showing a tie or a slight Likud lead would signal the end of the current political narrative. He urged readers not to be "addicted to numbers" and to remember "human psychology."
