Teenagers' Calls Lead to Rescue of Injured Man Near Jerusalem

Police officers rescued a man with a leg injury from a forest near Jerusalem early Sunday morning, September 27. The injured man had been stranded in the dark, far from roads and habitation, for several hours. His cries for help were heard by teenagers who then alerted the police and rescue services. The incident occurred near the Nativ ha-Porzim trail in Mevaseret Zion, west of the capital. Police from the Harel station launched a search operation and located the man, who required medical attention. Preliminary investigation suggests the man exited his vehicle to assess the terrain, slipped, sustained a leg injury, and became immobilized. He apparently left his phone in the car and could not call for assistance. Paramedics treated the man, assessing his condition as light. Separately, on the afternoon of September 27, a 42-year-old man was seriously injured after falling approximately 5 meters from a cliff in an open area near Aminadav Forest, also in the Jerusalem region. Magen David Adom emergency services transported him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, where doctors described his condition as severe.
